2022 CIES Study Abroad and International Students (SAIS) SIG Research Grants
SAIS SIG Research Grant
In an effort to promote innovative research on study abroad and international students, the CIES SAIS SIG will be offering a grant up to $1000 for graduate students, tenure-track and non-tenure track faculty, or independent researchers whose research project focuses on a topic related to the issues, challenges, and best practices in the area of study abroad and international student mobility in K-12 and beyond. This includes, as well, exchange and transnational programs globally.
The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to support innovative research of the highest quality in the field of study abroad and international students.
Eligible projects are those that will be completed by April 2023 and conducted by any member in good standing with CIES or the SAIS SIG. Preference will be given first to SAIS SIG members. Grant recipients will be invited to share their research results at the annual CIES SAIS SIG business meeting in 2023.
Grant / Award
The amount of the grant will be up to $1000, but may be split between applicants. The awards approved depend upon available funds. To apply for the SAIS SIG Research Grant, please submit your proposal (maximum of 1,000 words) describing the project objectives, detailing how they help further the field of study abroad and international students, explaining the applicant’s capacity to successfully conduct this project, specifying why funding is needed, and outlining specifics about how the grant will be used. The project must have a timeline with an expected completion date.
The application deadline is March 25, 2022 at 5 pm Eastern Time.
The SAIS SIG Research Grant Committee is chaired by Dr. Shuning Liu. All application materials must be submitted directly via email with subject line “SAIS SIG Research Grant Application-(Name of Applicant)” to email@example.com by 5 PM EST on Friday, March 25, 2022.
The grant recipient(s) will be notified via e-mail by April 15, 2022.
