The Science & Art of English Academic Writing is part of a workshop series in the International Scholars Mentoring Program provided by the Comparative & International Education Society (CIES) Study Abroad and International Students (SAIS) Special Interest Group (SIG). This workshop is intended to help scholars with the cultural and linguistic nuances of writing effectively in English in an academic setting, and especially for the purposes of academic journal publication.
The workshop is open to all CIES members, and it is designed to accommodate a wide range of scholars, including undergraduates, graduates, and early-career scholars. It will be held in a live online format through Zoom, but it will also be made available later in an on-demand version (by request). Attendees are not required to prepare anything in advance, but they should be aware that the format of the workshop calls for interactive group work (which will be conducted in Zoom breakout rooms).
After registering for the workshop, you will receive a Zoom passcode to grant you access. The workshop will be held on **May 14 at 10:00am in Japan Standard Time (e.g. May 13 at 9:00pm Eastern Standard Time in the USA)
Individuals who are interested in attending the workshop should register by completing the registration form.
The workshop will be held in two ways:
(1) Live at 10:00am in Japan Standard Time (e.g. 9:00pm Eastern Standard Time in the USA).
(2) On-Demand after May 14.
